Developed by BTI Biotechnology Institute in Spain, ENDORET PRGF (plasma rich growth factors) uses advanced biomedical technology to stimulate tissue regeneration with the use of autologous proteins found in the blood.  With more than 15 years of research and more than 100 scientific publications, the safety and effectiveness of ENDORET PRGF is well established.

San Diego Orthobiologics Medical Group is proud to be the first clinic in San Diego and the third in the United States to offer ENDORET PRGF therapy for the treatment of orthopedic conditions.

ENDORET PRGF offers many distinct advantages over traditional platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy by creating a more rapid and natural healing response.  Hundreds of endogenous proteins stimulate the tissue repair processes which includes new blood vessel formation cell mobilization and cell proliferation.

ENDORET PRGF contains fibrin, a fibrous protein that facilitates a balanced and gradual release of growth factors essential for healing.  This slow release process contrasts with other techniques, such as platelet lysate, to offer a more natural healing process.  ENDORET PRGF is rich in growth factors that accelerate healing and minimize inflammation which results in less pain and a quick recovery.

The safety of ENDORET PRGF is unparalleled with more than 700,000 patients treated in more than 20 countries without any adverse effects being reported.  ENDORET PRGF was awarded the prize for the best Level I Evidence Study in 2012 by the Journal of  Arthoscopic and Related Surgery.

Conditions We Have Successfully Treated:

  • Pain due to joint arthritis such as the shoulder, hip, thumb or knee
  • Tendon injuries such as tennis elbow, Achilles tendon or rotator cuff tears
  • Ligament sprains such as the wrist, ankle or sacroiliac joints
  •  Acute sports related muscle tears
  • Nerve entrapments such as carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Spine pain due to a disc or facet joint injuries
  • Sciatica due to a herniated disc or mild spinal stenosis
  • Non-displaced meniscus or labrum tears

More Effective Than Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Gel for Knee Osteoarthritis

In a randomized clinical trial, ENDORET PRGF decreased the pain and stiffness of knee osteoarthritis more effectively than three (3) hyaluronic acid (HA) gel injections.

During the study, 83% of patients treated with ENDORET PRGF experienced less pain while patients treated with hyaluronic acid (HA) gel demonstrated a gradual return of pain over time.  One year after the treatment, 60% of ENDORET PRGF patients continued to note decreased pain.  None of the patients treated with ENDORET PRGF presented with any adverse reactions to the treatment.

Effective Treatment for Chronic Lower Back Pain

In a clinical case series study of 86 patients with chronic lower back pain, a statistically significant decrease of pain (*) was demonstrated in 90% of patients 6 months after treatment with ENDORET PRGF.  Before treatment, the average pain (VAS) score was 8.4 out of 10 and six months after treatment the average pain score was 0.8 out of 10.
